Hidden Histories

Wednesday 30 May, 10.30am – 11.30am

Around the world historical artworks are questioned, monuments are debated and historic statues torn down. The veil of history told through a predominately white, male colonial lens has been lifted.

In this panel discussion of leading artists and thinkers we scrape back the gloss of nostalgia to reveal the real ‘hidden’ histories behind museum art historical narratives, including significant works from the collection of Bendigo Art Gallery.

Panellists:
Rodney Carter , CEO of Dja Dja Wurrung Aboriginal Clans Corporation
Tansy Curtin, Curatorial Manager Bendigo Art Gallery
Jessica Bridgfoot, New Histories Curator
Phuong Ngo, New Histories Artist

MC: Emma Busowsky Cox, Bendigo Art Gallery Curator, City History and Collections

Free.
