The 80s

28 November 2009 - 17 January 2010

An exhibition celebrating the decade that was the 1980s. Some historical highlights (for those of us who remember that decade) – the Cold War ended, Charles married Diana, the compact disc was born, Disco was out, Punk and New Wave were in, and hair was high. Art embraced ‘the now’ and popular culture, and highlighted political and social issues of the time. Drawn from the collection, The 80s will transport you ‘back to the future’ with the decade that never really went away.
