ST Gill: The New Rush

20 June – 1 November 2015

To coincide with the State Library of Victoria’s major exhibition, Bendigo Art Gallery will present a small selection of key works by ST Gill from its own collection, including watercolours and lithographs alongside original newspaper cuttings and a bound volume of 48 prints. Through his prodigious output ST Gill captured the commonplace of the mid 1800s, from sly grog tents to bushrangers, gold buyers to bare knuckle fights, and has provided us with an invaluable record of Victoria at this pivotal time in history.
