16 October - 21 November
Mid-air presents a series of new works by Melbourne-based artist Robyn Burgess. This body of work has emerged from research undertaken by the artist in New York City in 2009. Elements of travel, foreign-ness, leaving and homing, wandering and belonging reside in these paintings; themes which have informed Burgess’ studio practice for more than a decade.
Mid-air is a personal metaphor for the hovering and consuming practice of painting. Loose threads and unresolved issues lurk in the corner for another painting or body of work to address. Robyn Burgess 2010
