A Monash Gallery of Art Travelling Exhibition
This survey exhibition pays homage to the work of major Australian photographer David Moore. During a career spanning 50 years, Moore photographed artists, politicians, Indigenous Australians, the construction of the Sydney Opera House and ordinary Australians, providing an extraordinary archive of material about Australian life. The exhibition will feature some of Moore’s more resonant narratives in black and white including Redfern Interior 1949, Sisters of Charity, Washington DC 1956 and Migrants arriving in Sydney 1966. The selection of photographs from the Monash Gallery of Art collection is a tribute to the life and work of one of Australia’s most influential photographers.
