Bendigo Art Gallery is a unique learning space with a extensive permanent collection dating from the 19th century to today.  Through this collection the Gallery provides the opportunity for students to explore the development of the visual arts in Australia and gain insights into Australian history, the environment and the nature and growth of Australian society. As well as designing programs around our permanent collection each year, Bendigo Art Gallery offers special international and Australian exhibition programs.

The education department provides students and teachers with a wide range of tours, workshops and resources that link with many VELS, VCE, VET and VCAL outcomes to provide creative and insightful opportunities to discover the collection and special exhibitions.

To arrange a visit and discuss a program for your school group, please contact one of our Education Officers (details below).  Our Education Officers are happy to cater for your group’s touring needs. Whenever possible, please allow at least one week’s notice when requesting a guided tour.

Bendigo Art Gallery wishes to acknowledge the support of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in providing funding through the Strategic Partnerships Program.

Bendigo Art Gallery also acknowledges Gandel Philanthropy as the founding Schools Program Partner of Love Your Gallery, an art education outreach program for regional and rural school students. Click here for more details!
