Bendigo Art Gallery is a unique learning space that provides the opportunity for educators and students to explore the development of the visual arts and gain insights into Australian history, the environment and the nature and growth of Australian society. As well as designing programs around our permanent collection, Bendigo Art Gallery offers special international and Australian exhibition programs.

The education team provides students and teachers with a wide range of tours, workshops and resources that link with many F-10 Curriculum, VCE, VET and VCAL outcomes

Students are invited to explore three Australian Contemporary Art exhibitions at the Gallery this term. Discover student tour and workshop opportunities below.

Myuran Sukamaran: Another Day in Paradise

7 July – 16 September 2018

Another Day in Paradise is the first major exhibition by Myuran Sukumaran along with a series of newly commissioned artworks by leading Australian artists. It presents the significant body of work produced while incarcerated in Bali’s Kerobokan Prison, Denpasar and during the final 72 hours of his life spent on Nusa Kambangan Island.


Paul Guest Prize

30 June - 9 September 2018

Paul Guest Prize is a non-acquisitive cash prize of $15,000 which is held biennially, highlighting contemporary drawing practice in Australia.
