The collections of Bendigo Art Gallery include Australian Art from the 1850s to the present day, a special collection of art from the Bendigo goldfields and 19th century European paintings, sculptures and decorative arts.

Each year Bendigo Art Gallery presents an exciting program of exhibitions and events. This includes guided tours, workshops, talks by arts professionals, films and much more.

Bendigo Art Gallery's collection is constantly growing. with thanks to the support of an enthusiastic Membership, Friends of the Bendigo Art Gallery, Foundation, the City of Greater Bendigo and Arts Victoria.

19th Century Australian Art

Bendigo Art Gallery is fortunate to hold many works by 19th century Australian artists - including those who documented the history of Bendigo.

Modern and Contemporary Collection

Bendigo Art Gallery has an extensive and varied collection of art which includes painting, sculpture, ceramics, decorative arts, photography and works on paper. The collection has a strong emphasis on 19th century European art and Australian art from the 1800s onwards and over the past decade has been building a significant collection of contemporary Australian art.

19th Century International Art

Bendigo Art Gallery has some remarkable paintings, sculptures and decorative arts reflecting European salon trends of the mid-to-late 19th century.
